Hire-a-writer.com was created by Laura Jackson, a former journalist and public relations practitioner who recognized the need for an online writing and editing service. During Laura’s career in communications, she realized the value of clear, compelling and concise writing in both business and academics.

Today, Laura helps her clients communicate effectively in an online world. Her expertise is backed by many years of study in communications. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s Studies from the University of Western Ontario; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson University; a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario; a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Mohawk College and a Certificate in Copy Editing from Emerson College in Boston, MA. Outside of the classroom, Laura spent many years learning the art of writing and editing while working in newspaper, magazine and television journalism.
